Airfield Supervisor

The Yukon Flats Project is recruiting for its seasonal exploration program in Birch Creek, Alaska, running between June and October.

The Airfield Supervisor directs and oversees all helideck activities in a safe, efficient, and customer-friendly manner in all weather conditions. Responsible for Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting (ARFF) and Fixed Base Operations (FBO), including fueling various aircraft types, towing and preparing aircraft for passenger departure. Operate various types of equipment and vehicles to accomplish duties.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Manage Helideck – ensure area is clear of hazards and is maintained for operational readiness.
• Coordinate with flight crews for safe, orderly, expeditious takeoff and landing.
• Oversee movement of cargo and personnel in the designated helideck and surrounding areas.
• Respond to emergency situations such as fires or evacuations and coordinate with necessary support.
• Ensure appropriate safety precautions and procedures are followed in the operating area.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

- Relevant certification in aviation operations or safety management.

- Strong understanding of airfield operations, particularly regarding helideck management.

- Ability to effectively coordinate and communicate with flight crews and ground personnel.

- Knowledge of Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting (ARFF) protocols and procedures.

- Familiarity with Fixed Base Operations (FBO) practices, including fueling and aircraft preparation.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 1+ years of experience operating in remote and austere conditions.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Rotations are dependent on the work program
• Work in remote locations as an independent provider
• Must be willing to work overtime and be on-call while at the site as needed
• Must be willing to work weekends and holidays as needed
• May be required to fly in small aircraft
