Spectrolab, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company's Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business unit has an exciting opportunity for an **Associate Tool & Fixture Specialist** to join our dynamic team in **Sylmar, California** . Spectrolab is the world's leading merchant supplier of the highest efficiency multijunction solar cells for spacecraft power systems, with proven reliability drawn from 65 years of space heritage. Spectrolab's state-of-the-art space solar cells and panels power satellites in Earth's orbit, as well as the International Space Station. **Position Responsibilities:** + Performs routine tool set up activities + Makes minor repairs + Performs manufacture, assembly and fabrication of tools + Operates various factory support equipment to move materials and tools as required + Provides tooling support to other organizations + Assists in determining fabrication and assembly processes for the design + Assists in reverse engineering design and fabrication processes for parts **This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.** **This position is for 1st shift however, c** **andidates must be willing to work any shift, weekends, and overtime as required.** **Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):** + Basic computer experience and competency + Experience using hand tools and/or hand-held power tools + Ability to stand and walk throughout work shift (6+ hours) as well as carry and lift up to 25 pounds + Experience in packing. **Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):** + Minimum of High School Diploma or GED + Experience reading and understanding engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications + Experience in processes, geometric dimensioning & tolerances, and machining capabilities of different types of materials + Experience working with close tolerances .0001" **Typical Education/Experience:** Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate). **Relocation:** Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position.
