Job Description

Municipal Supply, Inc. is looking for a Bid Estimator for our Des Moines, IA location. If you are seeking a full-time position, have knowledge of water and sewer supplies, can read blueprints and plan sets (or a strong willingness to learn), then we would like to talk to you!

Responsibilities:

• Perform utility piping take-offs.
• Complete and distribute material quotes to the bidding contractors.
• Research plans and specifications to determine the material and project requirements.
• Communicates with the engineer or contractor, to clarify any unusual or special material issues.
• Determines if supplied materials meet local/state/federal specifications.
• Ensure that awarded projects receive material on time and within spec.
• Receives and prepares orders from telephone and walk-in customers occasionally.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Proficient in MS Office, Adobe and Outlook.
• Knowledge of SAGE software and ON Center software is helpful.
• Ability to read blueprints and plan sets, or a strong willingness to learn.
• Able to work independently or as a team in a fast paced environment.
• Strong professional communication skills.
• Ability to perform and meet deadlines.
