Saginaw’s Pâtisserie is a European-inspired bakery that has been making every day a special occasion since 2002. We specialize in fabulous pastries, handcrafted desserts and an ever-changing menu of gorgeous gourmet delights. The successful candidate has experience working with a wide variety of ingredients, fashioning them into designs to meet or exceed our customers’ expectations. You should have good manual dexterity, familiarity with the latest trends and methods in cake decorating, and an eagerness to learn and apply new techniques to surprise and delight our clientele.

Required Qualifications

• Friendly, reliable, respectful, professional
• Possess solid cake decorating skills:
• -frosting cakes

-piping borders
-making buttercream roses
-writing
-working with fondant
-creating assorted flowers
-developing a color scheme

• Experience in bakery/food service environment
• Creative and detail-oriented
• Open and flexible availability Tuesday-Saturday, starting at 5 a.m.
• Able to multitask and work with a sense of urgency
• Must be able to work standing/on feet up to 8+ hours per day
• Able to follow written and verbal directions
• Works well with others as part of team as well as individually
• Knowledge of safe food handling preferred (training also provided)

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

· Designing and decorating cakes in a variety of styles for everyday and seasonal inventory as well as custom orders and special requests

• Working directly with customers to suggest cake design and decoration options
• Maintaining a clean and well-stocked work area
• Upholding Pâtisserie’s reputation for quality
• Assisting other team members as needed
