The University of Iowa’s College of Dentistry is conducting a search for the Department Executive Officer, Oral Pathology, Radiology & Medicine.  This is a full-time clinical or tenure-track faculty position at the Associate Professor or Full Professor level. 

Major responsibilities: 

• provide strong leadership in the areas of teaching, scholarship, and service to the department;



• collaborate with collegiate leadership;



• develop and mentor faculty;



• maintain close cooperation with other departments; and



• actively participate in the department’s faculty practice.  

Successful candidates will be required to self-disclose any misconduct history or pending research misconduct investigation including but not limited to sexual misconduct in prior employment and provide a related release and will be subject to a criminal background and credential check. 

• DDS/DMD degree or equivalent;



• completion of a CODA/CDAC-accredited advanced training program in
  
  
  
  
  
  • Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology, or
  
  
  
  • Oral Medicine, or
  
  
  
  • Oral & Maxillofacial Radiology, or
  
  
  
  • Orofacial Pain;
  
  
  



• Master’s degree or higher in relevant field; 

• Board certification by the American Board of
  
  
  
  
  
  • Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology, or
  
  
  
  • Oral Medicine, or
  
  
  
  • Oral & Maxillofacial Radiology, or
  
  
  
  • Orofacial Pain;
  
  
  



• significant relevant administrative/budget experience;



• record of effective teaching, patient care, and service;



• record of protocol-driven research and/or scholarly activity; and



• professional experience working effectively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives.

• demonstrated clinical practice experience;



• strong research accomplishments with extramural funding;



• demonstrated record of mentoring students, residents, and/or faculty;



• demonstrated leadership accomplishments at national and/or international levels; and



• ability to develop new research initiatives.
