Job Description

Do you enjoy caring for children and making a positive impact on their lives? If so, we have an immediate opening for a highly skilled and motivated Child Watch Staff. Child Watch is the Y's childcare program for members and is for children ages 8 weeks to 11 years old.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise a group of children while adhering to program standards including safety and cleanliness
  • Plan and implement culturally relevant and developmentally appropriate program activities
  • Attend staff meetings and trainings
  • Maintain accurate and timely records
  • Follow YMCA policies and procedures
  • Maintain positive relations with parents and other staff
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or equivalent; one year or more of college preferred
  • Previous experience working with children
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Previous experience with diverse populations preferred

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to plan, lead, and participate in a range of activities in various settings
  • Walking, stooping, standing, hearing, seeing, lifting (up to 50 pounds)

Training:

  • CPR, First Aid, AED, and O2 certifications required within the first 30 days of employment
  • New Employee Orientation required within the first week of employment
