Pay Range: $121,180.80 - $150,758.40 per year

The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Clinical Pharmacist will have out-patient duties as assigned to manage the continuity of care between the in-patient and out-patient visits, including general chemotherapy and supportive care medications and related lab monitoring.

Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to make evidence-based decisions designed to improve patient care,

Completes critical medication order scrutiny, drug profile review, and patient monitoring to identify, prevent, or mitigate medication-related problems,

Maintains appropriate records of dispensing as required by Institutional policy, State and Federal laws,

Participates in Drug Usage Evaluation/Medications Usage Evaluation studies, participates in reporting ADR s, assures compliance with all policies and procedures including investigational drug studies,

Utilize the system of Continuous Quality Improvement CQI to demonstrate and measure the effectiveness of pharmaceutical care,

Provides accurate drug information to physicians, nurses, patients, and other healthcare personnel as needed.

Counsels patients on dosage, usage, storage, side effects and indications of medications prescribed,

Consults with physicians to clarify inaccuracies, correct errors, and provide dosage adjustments,

Demonstrates the responsibilities of ordering drugs and supplies and maintaining adequate but not excessive stock levels,

Participates in committees, research, and clinical program development and community services as required,

Understands and adheres to RWJBH's compliance standards as they appear in RWJBH's Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy,

Understands, demonstrates, and models the Rutgers Cancer Institute's Morris Cancer Center core values.

Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state and RWJBH's compliance standards as they appear in RWJBH's Corporate Compliance Policy and Code of Conduct policy,

Acts as a role model for corporate integrity, customer service and improved quality,

Performs other related duties as assigned,

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily,

The requirements listed must be representative of the knowledge, skills, minimum education, training, licensure, experience, and/or ability required.

Bachelor's Degree or Pharm D, with relevant specialized experience, including three 3 to five 5 years of experience as a licensed pharmacist practicing in oncology,

Board Certification in Oncology Pharmacy BCOP preferred but not required,

Must be licensed and registered by the New Jersey State Board of Pharmacy,

Must possess effective oral and written communication skills,

Must be computer-literate,

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Standing, sitting, walking, talking, and hearing,

No special vision requirements,

Lifting up to 25 lbs,

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Office environment, moderate noise, good conditions, IV preparation exposes employees to clean needle stick injury,

Chemotherapy preparation requires some exposure to potentially harmful chemicals and medications,

Detailed procedures, including the use of protective apparatus and equipment, are followed to minimize or eliminate exposure.
