Job Title: Preschool Custodian Position Overview:The Preschool Custodian is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and sanitary environment for children, families, and staff. This role ensures that classrooms, bathrooms, common areas, and outdoor spaces are kept orderly and hygienic in compliance with health and safety standards for early childhood facilities. The Custodian plays a vital role in supporting the daily operations of the preschool and creating a welcoming environment for all. Key Responsibilities: * Perform daily cleaning and sanitizing of classrooms, restrooms, hallways, and common areas. * Sweep, mop, vacuum, and disinfect floors and carpets. * Empty trash and recycling bins and ensure proper disposal. * Clean and disinfect toys, furniture, and high-touch surfaces regularly. * Maintain cleanliness of windows, mirrors, and glass doors. * Restock restroom supplies (toilet paper, soap, paper towels). * Monitor and maintain outdoor play areas, including trash removal and equipment cleanliness. * Perform minor maintenance tasks such as changing lightbulbs or reporting needed repairs. * Ensure that cleaning products and supplies are safely stored and out of children’s reach. * Follow all health, safety, and sanitation protocols required by licensing and regulatory agencies. * Assist with setup and cleanup for special events as needed. Qualifications: * High school diploma or equivalent (preferred). * Prior custodial or janitorial experience, especially in schools, childcare, or healthcare settings, is an asset. * Knowledge of cleaning methods, sanitation practices, and safe handling of cleaning chemicals. * Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. * Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, stoop, and perform repetitive cleaning tasks. * Commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy environment for young children. Work Schedule: 3pm to 11pm Reports To: * Preschool Director or Facilities Manager
