Job Summary:
Significance is a woman-owned consulting firm serving the federal government. The Junior Data Engineer will support the Marine Corps Installations Command in building and maintaining data ecosystems for strategic analysis and performance management.
Responsibilities:
• Support the Marine Corps Installations Command (MCICOM) G-9’s Installation Analytics and Common Output Levels of Service (COLS) Program.
• Build and maintain data ecosystems that support strategic analysis, resource prioritization, and performance management.
• Work with various data systems, dashboards, and applications (including COLS App, MCPRIME, and Power BI) to ensure high data quality, accurate integration, and effective reporting.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Minimum 3 years of experience in data engineering or related field, or a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a similar discipline.
• Familiarity with data integration, transformation, and validation techniques.
• Proficiency in using and supporting data analysis tools such as Power BI and/or Tableau.
• Ability to assist with developing and maintaining dashboards, splash pages, and data collection tools.
• Basic understanding of relational databases and data import/export processes.
• Comfortable working in a structured environment with periodic deliverables and quality expectations.
• Secret Clearance
Preferred:
• Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) data systems such as PBIS, DAI, and/or MCPRIME.
• Knowledge of cost estimation, performance metrics, and PPBE/POM processes.
• Exposure to development or support of web-based applications and user interfaces.
• Experience participating in data governance, compliance documentation (e.g., MIL-STD-3022), or validation and verification efforts.
• Familiarity with operations research or statistical approaches to data analysis.
• Experience supporting or coordinating with cross-functional or geographically distributed teams.
