Join the team at Austell Gas System as a Data Entry Operator in a fully remote role. In this remote position, you will play a critical part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of data supporting our utility operations—working remotely from your home office while connecting with on-site and remote teams. Your work will bridge remote workflows and essential field operations, enabling safe and reliable natural-gas service across our community. As a remote contributor, you’ll help maintain pivotal data systems that support both field crews and office staff.
Although this role is conducted remotely, you’ll collaborate closely with both remote and on‐site colleagues. You will ensure that remote data entry supports on‐site service delivery and that your remote contributions align with our company’s mission of safe, efficient utility service. Your remote workspace will be where you focus on high-volume data tasks, while remaining integrated into a broader on-site and remote operational ecosystem.
Efficiently enter data from a remote workspace into company systems, including customer service records, meter readings, billing adjustments and operational logs.
Verify data for accuracy, consistency and completeness, collaborating with remote team members and on-site personnel to reconcile discrepancies and support remote workflows.
Maintain organized digital records accessible to remote and on-site stakeholders, ensuring remote and field teams can reliably access current data.
Generate data summaries and reports from your remote setup to support operations teams, management review and decision-making.
Coordinate virtually with field technicians, customer-service agents and administrative staff to gather missing information and support remote data processes.
Participate in archive, version-control and documentation procedures, ensuring that remote entries adhere to compliance and audit-ready standards.
Propose improvements to remote data-entry and documentation workflows, suggesting remote-friendly tools, processes or templates to boost efficiency.
Uphold data-security practices and confidentiality within your remote workspace, ensuring remote access protocols and company policies are followed.
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or certificate in business administration, data management or related field preferred.
Previous experience in data entry or administrative support roles recommended; comfort working in a remote environment strongly preferred.
Proficiency with spreadsheet software, database applications and digital filing systems; familiar and comfortable working remotely and using remote collaboration tools.
Excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills and ability to manage tasks independently from a remote workspace.
Must have a reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated remote workspace with minimal distractions.
Effective written and verbal communication skills suitable to coordinate with both remote and on-site teams.
Self-motivated, disciplined and capable of thriving in a remote role with minimal supervision.
Understanding of data integrity, version control and best practices for record-keeping in a remote setting.
Competitive hourly pay of $28–$34 per hour for this remote role.
