We are looking for candidates with strong communication skills who can actively participate in discussions, bridge the gap between product and technology, and coach, mentor, and guide junior engineers in best practices and technical problem-solving.
As a DBA, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, administering, and monitoring data management systems while ensuring their design, consistency, quality, and security.
Responsibilities
Serve as an individual contributor for all database-related activities.
Monitor and ensure the uptime and availability of all production databases.
Estimate PostgreSQL database capacities and develop methods for monitoring database usage and capacity.
Lead efforts to create and enhance automated monitoring and proactive intervention procedures, minimizing downtime.
Participate in the creation and migration of development, staging, and production database instances.
Conduct SQL code reviews for developers to ensure queries are optimized and tuned for efficiency before production deployment.
Perform regular database maintenance tasks, including vacuuming, reindexing, and archiving.
Proactively address database operational issues to ensure smooth performance.
Optimize query performance and perform preventative maintenance.
