Engineering Manager | Walker, MI

Salary Range: $114,000 - $163,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of manufacturing engineers and technicians.
• Oversee the planning and execution of engineering projects for new product introduction, process optimization, and automation.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency, product quality, and cost reduction.
• Manage departmental budgets, resources, and timelines to ensure project delivery within scope.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance for complex manufacturing challenges and root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with production, quality, and R&D departments to ensure seamless integration of engineering solutions.
• Establish and maintain engineering standards, best practices, and documentation for manufacturing processes.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proven experience leading and mentoring engineering teams in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong technical background in manufacturing engineering, automation, and process improvement methodologies.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex engineering projects from conception to completion.
• Deep understanding of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, and quality systems.
• Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and cross-functional communication skills.

Bonus Qualifications

• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
• Experience with Industry 4.0 technologies (e.g., IoT, AI/ML for manufacturing, digital twins)
• Proficiency in specific PLM or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Siemens Teamcenter)
