Job Description
Summary:
Seeking a dynamic English Teacher to lead instruction across grades 9–12 in a college preparatory, Catholic educational setting. This role is ideal for educators committed to fostering faith, scholarship, and character while inspiring a diverse student body. Teachers are supported by a strong department, professional growth opportunities, and a values-based culture.
What You’ll Do:
• Teach English literature, writing, and composition aligned to college-prep standards
• Develop engaging, standards-based lesson plans that foster deep thinking and growth
• Create a structured, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment
• Collaborate with department and school leaders to enhance curriculum and instruction
• Integrate educational technology and digital platforms into instruction
• Attend staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities
• Support the school mission through co-curricular participation and faith-driven engagement
Experience You’ll Need:
• Bachelor’s degree in English or related field required (Master’s preferred)
• Minimum 1 year of high school teaching experience preferred
• Valid teaching credential strongly preferred
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Understanding of Catholic education and the Marianist values is a plus
