Job Title: Estimator

The Estimator is responsible for delivering detailed and accurate cost estimates in a dynamic manufacturing environment. This role involves calculating material, labor, and time requirements for various projects and providing timely support for internal and external stakeholders.
Analyze project documentation including proposals, blueprints, and engineering drawings to calculate labor, materials, and time requirements in a custom fabrication setting
Determine estimated production time and workforce hours based on customer scope and applicable standards
Prepare cost breakdowns for materials and in-house work processes
Maintain up-to-date information on labor rates and material pricing to ensure accurate quotations
Build and maintain professional relationships with vendors and suppliers
Interpret a wide range of customer drawings and technical specifications to create detailed and competitive quotes
2–4 years of relevant experience in a custom manufacturing or fabrication setting, ideally involving welding, machining, or metalwork
Equivalent combinations of education and hands-on experience will be considered
Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and technical documents
Strong verbal and written communication skills for customer and team interactions
Comfortable using Microsoft Office Suite and other basic business software
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work within tight deadlines
Self-motivated and capable of working independently with limited supervision
Prior hands-on experience as a CNC Machinist and/or Welder-Fitter in a medium-to-heavy industrial fabrication environment
Computer, calculator, ruler, scanner
Software: Microsoft Excel, Adobe PDF, quoting and job costing tools such as ERP/CRM systems and digital quote logs
