Monumental Weddings and Events is seeking an experienced, strategic, and service-driven Event Sales Manager to lead our event sales function and elevate the client experience from inquiry to execution. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, understands the event business inside and out, and has the vision to scale what’s already successful.

Monumental Weddings and Events is the market leader in Indianapolis for wedding and event venues within the funeral and cemetery industry and our work has been featured in major media outlets, and our brand continues to evolve with intention, innovation, and growth.

What You’ll Do

Sales Strategy + Leadership

  • Lead all inbound event sales efforts from initial inquiry through booking.
  • Create, implement, and optimize sales systems, tools, and best practices.
  • Oversee lead management and ensure consistent follow-up using Tripleseat and CRM tools.
  • Develop KPIs around tour conversions, response time, upsells, and revenue generation.
  • Mentor and manage event sales team members (if applicable), providing coaching and accountability.

Client Experience + Event Management

  • Serve as the key point of contact for high-value clients and strategic vendor relationships.
  • Manage event timelines, contracts, client communications, and on-site execution plans.
  • Ensure exceptional service standards are met from pre-booking to post-event follow-up.
  • Oversee coordination of venue tours, planning meetings, and vendor walkthroughs.
  • Resolve client concerns with a solutions-focused and professional approach.

Operational Oversight

  • Collaborate with the VP of Marketing on pricing, promotions, and branded collateral.
  • Oversee bar package ordering, vendor inventory, and related logistics.
  • Track and manage event financials and forecasting tied to bookings and packages.
  • Ensure compliance with venue policies, insurance requirements, and service standards.

Marketing + Brand Awareness

  • Support marketing efforts through strategic collaboration on campaigns, packages, and social content.
  • Maintain a consistent presence across social media platforms, ensuring marketing aligns with sales goals.
  • Leverage past events and vendor relationships to generate user-generated content and referrals.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Marketing, Communications, or a related field (preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in event sales, venue management, or hospitality leadership.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue goals in an event or service-based industry.
  • Strong leadership presence, with the ability to manage, motivate, and hold others accountable.
  • Detail-oriented, process-driven, and client-obsessed.
  • Tech-savvy with CRM/event software experience (Tripleseat preferred).
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable working flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.

Work Environment

  • This is an on-site position based at Monumental Weddings and Events in Indianapolis.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods during tours, event setups, and coordination.
  • Requires flexible scheduling, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on the event calendar.
  • Regular use of a computer and office equipment for email communication, scheduling, and CRM systems.
  • Must be able to lift and carry items up to 50 pounds, including event materials such as linens, décor, and bar supplies.
  • Fast-paced, client-facing environment requiring strong multitasking and problem-solving skills.
