This role contributes to meeting the mission of NRCS by enhancing capacity in field offices and ensuring timely assistance to producers. It is designed to free up NRCS staff for emergency and high-priority responses, not to replace federal staff.This role helps ensure continued progress on conservation planning, practice implementation, and technical assistance, especially in high-demand or disaster-affected areas. An ?ACES Enrollee? is a participant in a grant program established through a Cooperative Agreement funded by the USDA-NRCS and administered by NEW Solutions.This opportunity applies to applicants legally eligible to work in the United States.Qualifications:Minimum of 10 year(s) of experience in Geographic Information System (GIS) with experience in creating and managing spatial data, conducting spatial analysis, producing custom maps, providing technical GIS support/training, and experience utilizing GIS scripting languages like Python to streamline data processing. OR BA/BS Degree in Geographic Information Systems or Cartographer.Experience required with Windows, MS Excel, ARCVIEW (GIS)ArcGIS Pro, Survey123, Field Maps, Protracts, Conservation Desktop, CARTDuties:Use Geographic Information Systems to develop tools, analyze natural resource data, supporting conservation efforts for farmers and landowners by creating maps, and processing data, for planning conservation practices. Also, assist in training and technical support for NRCS employees. Prepare geospatial technical reports for NRCS Program Staff.
