Headquartered in Birmingham, AL, our field operations are located throughout the Appalachian Basin in the states of Tennessee, Kentucky, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. In 2021, Diversified announced our expansion into our Central Regional Focus Area, which includes producing areas within Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas.

POSITION SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES:  

The GIS Technician position will serve a dual role in completing basic mapping corrections, database updates and integrations.  

Special focus will be placed on:  

• Map corrections, database updates and integrations  

• Data collection unit data transfers  

• Georeferencing and digitization of third-party maps from coal and utility companies.  

• Incorporate CAD data into the GIS system.  

• Coordinate the data refresh of mapping applications (line removal, validation of new data, and recapture of existing data) 

• Collaborate with internal teams to update data to display all assets and appurtenances .  

• Create digital and conventional maps for field use and presentations  

• Other duties as assigned  

  POSITION REQUIREMENTS :  

• High school diploma or equivalent.  

• Proficien cy in ArcMap and ArcCatalog  

• Experience using ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Portal, ArcGIS Server, AutoCAD, Trimble GPS units or similar spatial data management software and tools.  

• Knowledge of state one-call agency programs regulations desired .  

• Working knowledge of One Call ticketing system desired.  

• A basic understanding of oil and gas operations. Working knowledge of natural gas process equipment desired .  

• Working knowledge of GIS mapping, data gathering for mapping, and data validation for mapping desired.  

Office Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

· Prolonged periods working at a desk in front of a computer.

Additional Requirements:

· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.

Driver Requirements:

• Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record
• This position involves operating a company vehicle for work-related travel or receiving a stipend for operating a personal vehicle for company use; adherence to all traffic laws and company vehicle policies is required.
• Candidates must be eligible to be insured under the company's vehicle insurance policy.
