Job Description

Description We are looking for a skilled Grant Writer to join our team in San Diego, California, on a contract basis. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in securing funding by crafting compelling proposals and aligning them with grant requirements. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects within the non-profit sector. Responsibilities: - Develop and write detailed grant proposals tailored to specific funding opportunities and requirements. - Conduct thorough research to identify potential funding sources, including government agencies, foundations, and private organizations. - Collaborate with internal teams to gather relevant information and data for proposal development. - Ensure all proposals comply with submission guidelines and deadlines. - Edit and revise proposals to enhance clarity, impact, and alignment with funder priorities. - Track and monitor the status of submitted proposals and follow up as necessary. - Maintain detailed records of grants, deadlines, and submission requirements. - Provide strategic recommendations to improve fundraising strategies and proposal success rates. - Stay informed about trends and best practices in grant writing and funding opportunities. - Assist in the development of reports and documentation required by funders. Requirements - Proven experience in grant writing, with a successful track record in securing funding. - Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills. - Strong research skills to identify and evaluate funding opportunities. - Familiarity with grant submission processes, including RFPs and compliance requirements. - Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software. - Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills. - Knowledge of non-profit operations and funding landscapes is preferred.
