Job Description

A contracting firm specializing in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) services for commercial, industrial, refrigeration, and nuclear sectors is seeking an HVAC Design Coordinator. With over 60 years of experience, the company has evolved from a small refrigeration contractor into a multi-discipline firm employing over 500 individuals. The firm is committed to fulfilling client obligations, fostering employee development, and enhancing community well-being.

The HVAC Design Coordinator will report to the Director of Engineering & Design and will be responsible for coordinating project designs using advanced Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare HVAC permit and design documents.
  • Create HVAC shop drawings through careful project coordination.
  • Develop HVAC as-built documents.
  • Conduct site visits for coordination.
  • Attend project coordination meetings.
  • Collaborate with project management and field staff to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Support the design team with modeling and adherence to project standards.
  • Lead project coordination meetings as needed.
  • Manage and distribute coordinated digital documents to the project team.
  • Integrate BIM with the construction administration phase for submittals, construction models, shop drawings, and schedules.
  • Create Revit assemblies based on project requirements.
  • Provide assistance for electronic file submissions.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; a college degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of HVAC design experience.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk software, including AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks.
  • Experience in construction or trade work is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, with a self-starter attitude that is both goal-oriented and customer-focused.
