Job Description



RESPEC seeks an experienced Hydrology & Hydraulics Team Leader for our San Antonio or Castroville, TX, location.

RESPEC is seeking a motivated and experienced stormwater Team Leader to provide project management services in our San Antonio or Castroville, Texas offices. This role involves all aspects of planning, design, and specialty services related to the stormwater and water resources engineering field. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality engineering solutions while collaborating with project teams and clients. This position is a hands-on position in our H&H sector, in a successful and continually growing employee-owned company. Responsibilities include:

  • Mentor staff and contribute to a growing team
  • Lead and manage stormwater engineering teams and staff to provide exceptional stormwater engineering services
  • Lead and manage hydrology and hydraulic (stormwater) projects from conception through completion, for both public and private work
  • Help guide and develop project deliverables, permitting and general stormwater design
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies and internal teams to ensure project success
  • Foster client relationships
  • Some business development and client management

Qualifications



Required:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or a related engineering field
  • Must be a registered Professional Engineer in Texas and have experience in providing engineering services in the state
  • 8 to 15 years of experience in the stormwater-engineering field that includes project-management experience
  • 2 to 5 years of project management experience in the stormwater-engineering field
  • 2 to 5 years of managing teams of stormwater engineers
  • Practical application of the various hydrology/hydraulics software including, HEC-RAS (1D / 2D), HEC-HMS, Hydraflow, Flowmaster, StormCAD and EPASWMM
  • Experience in developing and preparing stormwater drainage reports, Conditional Letters of Map Revisions (CLOMR) and Letters of Map Revision (LOMR) for FEMA, permitting and stormwater design
  • Experience with AutoCAD and GIS

Preferred:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to lead a team of professionals and support their development
  • Experience in public and private stormwater projects
  • Experience with client management and developing new work
  • Experience with stormwater scope and fees and writing of proposals
  • Experience in developing and guiding construction plan packages and/or master plan studies
