The Marvin Group, a leading defense contractor, plays a crucial role in the development and manufacturing of various systems for military aerospace and vehicles. Marvin Engineering designs and produces military Alternate Mission Equipment. Marvin Test Solutions designs and manufactures armament Test Equipment. Position Summary

An HR Intern is responsible for supporting the HR department with various administrative tasks, including recruitment, employee relations, compliance with HR policies, and other projects are required. This position must possess considerable skill in multi-tasking, time management, attention to detail and can work in a fast-paced environment with time sensitive projects.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Administrative Support: Provide clerical support to the HR department, including maintaining employee records in electronic and paper form.
  • Leaves of Absence: Under supervision, support the leaves of absence (LOA) process by tracking LOAs, generating required documentation, follow up and track status updates, and file documentation in electronic and paper form.
  • Onboarding: Assist with the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring they have the necessary resources and information to start their roles effectively.
  • Employee Relations: Address employee inquiries regarding HR policies and procedures.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Understanding of HR procedures and policies, with a focus on confidentiality and professional ethics.
  • Benefits Administration: Assist employees with related benefit questions and the annual open enrollment process.
  • Recruitment: May assist in the recruitment process by posting job openings, screening applications, and coordinating interviews.
  • Work tickets assigned through the Help desk ticketing system.
  • Other administrative tasks or projects as assigned by management.

Required Skills And Qualification

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field.
  • Previous experience, 1+ years in HR coordinator, generalist or administrative role preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for interacting with employees and management.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with HR software and tools (ADPWFN, ADPWFM, ATS) for managing employee records and HR processes.
  • Strong ability in using MS Office (MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint).
  • Understanding of sourcing tools, including resume databases, online communities, and social media recruiting.
  • Outstanding communication and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle data with confidentiality.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • HR certifications is a plus

HOURLY RANGE : $23 - $25 an hour (based on skills, experience and education)
