Job Description

Location: Cerritos, CA | Type: Full-Time | Pay Rate: $18.00 - $22.00/hour
As an Information Technology Intern at Norm Reeves, you will be a vital member of our esteemed NR Tech Team whose goal is to “Wow!” our customers. Located in Cerritos, CA, our centralized IT Department delivers outstanding services to a rapidly expanding network of high-performing, privately held retail automotive dealerships throughout Southern California, Texas, and Florida. This internship provides you with extensive experience across various IT functions, including remote support and the deployment and maintenance of company-owned devices at all our locations. This opportunity is designed to help you jumpstart your career and enhance your technical expertise. You will benefit from mentorship and hands-on experience provided by seasoned professionals across all key areas of information technology.
What You'll Do
Collaborate with the IT department on projects and initiatives
Learn and apply best practices in all aspects of information technology
Become familiar with technologies in the automotive industry
Provide over-the-phone, in-person, and text-based technical support to employees and key stakeholders of the group
Participate in our employee onboarding and offboarding procedures
Assist in reducing the number of total support tickets in our ITIL based ticketing system
Maintain positive and professional relationships with co-workers and vendors
Perform routine maintenance tasks in accordance with company policies and procedures
Regularly install, label, inspect and maintain all tech areas in all locations as directed by IT management
Help maintain and update IT documentation
Demonstrate the ability to operate in a national matrixed organization
Participate in tech team planning on a company-wide basis
Maintain regular communication with the Service Desk Supervisor
What You'll Need
Currently enrolled as a college Junior or Senior, studying IT or similar relevant field
A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
Technology literacy, especially with Microsoft Excel and related programs
Exceptional communication skills
