Job Description

Creature Comforts is seeking a Part-Time Maintenance and Grounds Staff. Looking for experienced, qualified, self motivated individuals to join our team at our Tonawanda location. 

Applicants MUST have the below listed Skills, Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• Must own vehicle and have a clean driving record.
• Must have the ability to complete required safety classes that pertain to specific job duties.
• Minimum of 5 years previous experience in grounds maintenance (e.g. landscaping, lawn care, and/or snow removal)
• Must be able to lift 50lbs and be on your feet all day. 
• Knowledge of OSHA & MSDS guidelines
• Operates power tools and on site equipment (snowblower, lawnmowers, edger's, hedge clippers, weed whackers, blowers, etc.). 
• Performs all work in accordance with company safety procedures.
• Ability to handle multiple projects with a minimum of direction.
• Strong budgetary, fiscal and expense management skills.
• Excellent communication skills, positive approach to job, and ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
• Strong customer service support required.
• AND LOVE ANIMALS!

Duties to include, but not limited to:

• Under limited supervision, performs a variety of routine semiskilled tasks involving Ground Maintenance of the exterior grounds including;
• Building Maintenance, general repairs; painting, changing light bulbs etc.
• Basic plumbing repair such as leaking faucets, sinks, hoses etc.
• Installing drywall, patching wall damage, framing
• Spring, and Fall cleanups
• Lawn mowing, trim and edge around sidewalks, flower beds, potty yards and walls as needed
• Maintaining weeding flower beds, trimming and pruning of shrubs and trees
• Potty yards fence and gate repair
• Snow Removal salting, clearing doorways, snow blowing sidewalks, etc.
• Maintaining walkways, parking lots, and related structures/facilities
• HVAC & electrical experience helpful.
• Survey the grounds daily (Mon-Fri) and weekends as needed during weather, snow/ice or special events.
• Assure sidewalks and lots are clear of trash, debris, twigs, etc. before 7am daily

Pay is based on experience starts at $18-$23 per hour

Position is Part Time 3-days a week Monday thru Friday between the hours of 6am-5pm.

Days/Hours are flexible. Example of shift schedule could be Monday/Wednesday/Friday from 6am-4pm with occasional weekends should an emergency arise, as we are a 24 hour pet resort

There may be a need to occasionally travel between our locations both Tonawanda and Angola.
