Job Description

Title: Manager, Accounting
Environment: REMOTE (95%) – Must be able to Travel to D.C. with 24hrs notice

To take ownership for accurate financial reporting under U.S. GAAP. Direct the operations of the Accounting Department; prepare financial reports, including monthly financials, quarterly call reports, annual plan, and operating budgets; ensure complete, accurate, and timely completion of financial and accounting records for the credit union and prepare analysis of operations for management.

Responsibilities:

• Oversees the daily operations of the accounting department. Directs, motivates, trains, and supports accounting team members.
• Prepares or oversees preparation of all financial, statistical, and accounting records of the credit union, including internal monthly financials, quarterly call reports, and annual audited financials.
• Formulates, updates, and maintains accounting policies, responsible for internal controls over financial reporting.
• Supports overall credit union strategy; supports and collaborates with other departments.
• Works with auditors/examiners on year-end and comprehensive audits.
  Performance Measurements:
• Ensure department meets deadlines with minimal errors.
• Maintain balanced, current, and accurate general ledger accounts.
• Provide friendly, professional, and accurate service to members and associates.
• Support annual budget and monthly ALM processes with Brick ALM software.
• Responsible for account reconciliations.

Requirements:

• Experience: 8-10 years of relevant experience with progressive responsibility.
• Public accounting audit experience required.
• Financial services experience preferred.
• Certification: Active CPA license required.
• Education: BA/BS degree in Accounting or related field required
