Job Description

As a Mechanical Estimator II , you will be responsible for preparing competitive and accurate estimates for medium to large-scale mechanical construction projects. You'll work closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to develop winning bids and ensure cost-effective solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze project plans, blueprints, and specifications
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for plumbing, HVAC, piping, and sheet metal systems
• Determine time, labor, and material requirements
• Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes
• Assist with proposal development and bid submissions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Maintain documentation, reports, and cost tracking systems
• Provide mentorship and support to junior estimators

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical estimating , engineering, or a related trade
• Hands-on experience in HVAC, plumbing, piping, or sheet metal systems
• Proficiency with mechanical estimating software
• Strong analytical, math, and problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with computerized cost databases and bid tracking systems
• Associate's degree in engineering or related technical field (preferred)
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and have a valid driver's license
• On-site availability in Rochester, MN
