To effectively serve both audiences, you should be a self-starter with excellent writing skills and a clear vision for how each story will unfold throughout the morning across various platforms.
Strong live reporting skills and the ability to meet frequent rolling deadlines are essential, especially during breaking news and continuous severe weather events that often characterize the Austin news scene. We aim for high audience engagement on social media, and the reporter will be equipped with the tools to achieve and surpass these goals. The storyteller must be skilled in using social media to enhance newsgathering and reach wider audiences.
