Nurse Educator Opportunity

Coastal Harbor Health System is comprised of a 145-bed hospital for children and adolescents, providing both short- and long-term inpatient care, and a 50-bed inpatient hospital serving men and women, ages 18 and up. The Nurse Educator is a key member of the Coastal Harbor Team who will coordinate and educate personnel upon hire, as well as continuously provide training to staff on all components of the Health System.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Assist in the creation of education tools and training based upon identified needs of the hospital; assist in the development of key performance metrics to measure the success of the training programs
• Work with CNO to evaluate and modify training materials to maximize success and ensure training fully represents the mission and vision of the organization; create, modify, and deliver clinical and non-clinical training programs resulting from needs assessments
• Conduct orientation for Registered Nurses and Mental Health Technicians, as well as staff development in-services based on identified needs; coordinate and teach Hande with Care (HWC) and Verbal De-Escalation (Verbal D) training; coordinate annual CPR certification

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in nursing required
• Four years’ employment as an RN in a psychiatric setting in positions of progressive responsibility and leadership required
• Two years’ experience in a supervisory or administrative role required
• Current license to practice nursing in the State of Georgia required
• Valid driver’s license
