All while receiving the resources and support you need to advance your career and be the force behind the cures. The Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurse Student Extern program is a ten week program. The summer nurse extern, under the supervision and direction of a registered nurse, is responsible and accountable for providing safe, direct patient care and appropriate documentation for a pediatric hematology/oncology patient population. With the assistance of the Nursing Education Department and the Unit Council, the nurse extern will identify and participate in a unit based project. St. Jude is happy to announce that we are now accepting applications for our Summer Nurse Externship program . Applications will only be accepted November 19 - December 20, 2025. As a Nurse Student Extern , you'll be responsible for providing technical assistance under the direction of a registered nurse to achieve quality patient outcomes. If selected, you'll serve in our Inpatient Units, Outpatient Clinics, or Surgical Services department.
