Job Summary:

As the Pharmacy Technician Specialist, you assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining drug inventory and patient records.

You accept new written, faxed, or electronic prescription orders and accept new verbal orders, including refill authorizations, for non-controlled drugs from a prescriber or a prescriber's agent.

In this role, you prepare and affix labels, stock and retrieve dangerous drugs, count and pour dangerous drugs into containers and perform sterile drug compounding.

REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Must be at least 18 years of age

• 5 years of experience

• Active Ohio Board of Pharmacy Certified Technician License OROhio Board of Pharmacy Intern License and P4 status in schooling if working in Ohio.

• Active Michigan Board of Pharmacy Technician License OR Michigan Board of Pharmacy Intern license and P4 status in schooling if working in Michigan.

• Certified Pharmacy Technician required (either PTCB or ExCPT (NHA) exam permitted), unless has intern license.

• Achievement of CPhT-Adv certification through PTCB, unlesshasan intern license.

• Knowledge of medical terminology
