Job Title: Phlebotomist Job Description We are seeking a skilled and experienced Phlebotomist/Lab Assistant to join our team in an onsite hospital setting in San Marcos. The ideal candidate will have a strong experience in phlebotomy within acute hospital environments and be adept at working in a fast-paced setting. This role involves working closely with emergency department and inpatient patients, as well as transporting samples to and from onsite medical offices. Responsibilities + Perform venipunctures and capillary punctures to obtain blood samples from patients. + Label, process, and deliver specimens to the laboratory for testing. + Ensure proper patient identification and maintain accurate records of all specimens collected. + Assist with the preparation and maintenance of laboratory equipment and supplies. + Transport samples between the hospital and onsite medical offices as needed. + Provide excellent patient care and maintain a professional demeanor at all times. + Respond to call-outs and provide coverage for other shifts as required. Essential Skills + Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) license. + Previous phlebotomy experience in an acute hospital setting. + Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. + Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. + Effective communication and interpersonal skills. + Ability to work independently and as part of a team. + Flexibility to cover additional shifts as needed. Work Environment The position is based in San Marcos, CA, and is part-time, requiring work 3-4 days per week. The typical schedule is 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, with availability for call-outs during other shifts, such as 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $27.00/hr.
