Job Description A leading company in the healthcare space is seeking a seasoned PostgreSQL DBA to join their team and support mission-critical database operations. In this role, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of database administration, including patching, performance tuning, capacity planning, backup and recovery, and disaster recovery (DR) testing. You will collaborate closely with engineering teams and clients to ensure optimal database performance and security, while also contributing to data modeling, integration efforts, and change management processes. This position requires hands-on experience with PostgreSQL (on-prem), and a strong understanding of both Oracle and Postgres environments. You will play a key role in supporting the transition from Oracle to Postgres, ensuring data integrity, security, and high availability. The ideal candidate will bring leadership, mentorship, and technical expertise to help streamline operations and support enterprise-scale applications in a healthcare or HIPAA-regulated environment. Skills and Requirements - 58+ years of experience in database administration, with a strong focus on PostgreSQL - Proven experience with complex stored procedures, performance tuning, and query optimization - Hands-on experience with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning and testing - Experience with Oracle-to-Postgres data migration and integration - Strong understanding of data modeling and database design principles - Experience administering PostgreSQL in Linux and/or Azure cloud environments - Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., GitHub, Bitbucket) - Experience in the healthcare or pharmacy benefit management (PBM) industry, with HIPAA knowledge - Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as Cosmos DB or Redis - Experience with data masking and implementing data security controls - Hands-on experience with ETL processes and data conversion activities - Experience mentoring junior DBAs or developers - PostgreSQL or Oracle certifications - Experience with schema management tools like Flyway - Experience with IT security audit reporting and compliance - Exposure to Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) practices null We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
