JOB SUMMARY: As an IT Product Owner, you will be responsible for maximizing the value of our core Elevate Application solutions by effectively managing the product backlog and ensuring alignment between business needs and technical execution. You will work closely with key stakeholders, leaders in Business Operations, Application Development team(s), and other team members in a fast-paced Agile environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform in the role as liaison and "Product Champion" with Business Operations, IT and other key stakeholders for all efforts impacting your designated product. Includes work efforts for support, compliance, new clients, initiatives, customizations, etc.
- Develop and maintain a prioritized Product Roadmap that aligns with the business strategy and results in an Initiative Backlog with a product strategy for current and future years while also managing all ongoing costs to ensure the product provides positive value to Elevate.
- Manage Product's various work intake processes, accounting for product work efforts (support, incident management, bugs, vulnerabilities and new functionality) and whether further review and approval is needed.
- New features and functionality from the Initiative Backlog will require analyzing requirements and determining effort, cost and value, facilitating approval to execute.
- Translate approved work and requirements into well-defined user stories for the Product Backlog with clear acceptance criteria as well as estimated effort and value.
- Product Backlog should be managed in accordance with Elevate's Application Development SDLC process.
- Collaborate with the product's appropriate Application Development team to clarify requirements and provide guidance on prioritization based on value, risk and dependencies.
- Manage and prioritize the Product Backlog based on business value, risk, and dependencies with continuous communication and collaboration to key stakeholders.
- Ensure the delivered product meets quality standards and Business Operations expectations along with coordinated release communication.
- Ensure the product release is delivered to a production environment in accordance with Elevate's Applications SDLC process.
- Must be aware and prepared to represent any product releases to IT and it's Change Management process
- Will prepare and provide executive-level status communications for review such as the Monthly Product Steering Committee, Weekly PMO, Product Roadmap Review etc.
- Must monitor and provide status to IT Management and Operations Management all work activities related to the Product Line assigned (production tickets, Monday.com requests, etc) on a "as needed" (minimal) weekly basis.
- Professionally represent IT within all activities, which include written and verbal communications. Be the Product expert to guide business decisions.
- Manage and facilitate Product Steering Committee meetings for the Product Line assigned, ensure all materials related to required status is factual and well represented via status.
- Manage and facilitate the yearly Strategic Initiative Process by managing ideation, documentation, LOE, justification and presentation to executive management.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- 4-6 years of experience in a similar product management/business analyst type role
- In lieu of Bachelor's Degree: 6-8 years of experience as a business analyst or similar role
- Experience with complex, matrix like business models
- Experience in Health IT
- Understanding of PDLC, SDLC, Dev, QA, to UAT and Launch
- Proactive and creative problem solver who can operate effectively even with some level uncertainty/comfort with ambiguity
- Flexibility in the day-to-day
- Highly analytical
- Positive attitude, sense of humor and growth mindset
- Experience with Agile Scrum and Kanban Methodology for software development
- Ability to create user stories and do product acceptance testing with a knowledge of Gherkin or similar methodologies
- Familiarity with or exposure to hypothesis driven product management
- Strong written and verbal communication skills that enable you to simplify complex problems and interact with all levels of technical and non-technical peers
- Self-motivated and results from oriented individual able to work independently and also collaboratively with a team
