Job Description Summary
The Reference Librarian assists students faculty and other staff in the effective use of learning resources in the Leatherby Libraries. Duties may include evening and weekend hours. Key work in research support activities may include any combination of the following: Reference instruction and special projects in reference support materials as assigned. Maintain statistics and associated public services record keeping. Participate in liaison and instruction to appropriate departments based on organizational needs. Participate in the creation and provision of workshops in consultation with the Assistant Dean Library AI Literacy and Instructional Services.

Responsibilities
Reference (in person email phone and chat). Develop and refine research guides and other online instructional materials. Maintain reference statistics. Coordinate the reference schedule. Other duties as assigned. Participate in liaison and instruction to appropriate departments based on organizational needs. Participate in the creation and provision of workshops in consultation with the Assistant Dean Library AI Literacy and Instructional Services. Professional development to include reviewing of library related literature scholarly or creative activities and reflective analysis.

Required Qualifications
ALA -accredited MLS / MLIS degree. Excellent writing communication and interpersonal skills to interact with individuals at all organizational levels both inside and outside the university. Demonstrated commitment to customer service and working in a team environment. Proven ability to exercise sound judgment and make appropriate decisions/recommendations. Commitment to professional growth and development. Demonstrated ability to prioritize and coordinate work among different projects. Strong analytical organizational and time management skills.
