This Registered Nurse position requires weekend availability (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) on a 23-bed medical-surgical neurology unit in an acute care hospital. The role involves providing direct patient care, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team, and adhering to established protocols within a Level I trauma center and Magnet hospital. Minimum one year of experience is required, with preference given to candidates with PICC line management and IV starting experience.

Responsibilities:
- Providing skilled nursing care to patients on a medical-surgical neurology unit.
- Administering medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Performing patient assessments and documenting findings.
- Collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Managing PICC lines and starting IVs.
- Participating in interdisciplinary team meetings.
- Floating to other units as needed to meet facility needs.
- Utilizing Cerner electronic health record system.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois.
- Minimum one year of experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- NIH Stroke Scale certification.
- PICC line management experience.
- Experience starting IVs.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Previous charge nurse experience.
- Cerner experience.
Special Considerations:
- Weekend-only position (Friday, Saturday, Sunday).
- Day shift starting at 6:45 AM.
- No on-call requirements.
- Willingness to float within the medical-surgical scope of practice.
- Maximum of 5 days of RTO (Return to Office) restrictions.
- Client may cancel up to 36 hours per 13-week assignment without penalty; additional cancellations will be billed.
- Parking permit required (no cost).
Scheduling:
- Weekend-only (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) day shift (6:45 AM start time).
