Pay Range: $55–$60 hour / $2,000 – $2,200 weekly
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse to join a high-performing birthing unit that welcomes approximately 1,000 newborns annually. This role provides the opportunity to deliver patient-centered care to women and newborns throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum, while working alongside a skilled multidisciplinary team in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct nursing care throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum phases
Monitor maternal and fetal status using appropriate equipment and interventions
Assist with vaginal, assisted, and cesarean births
Administer medications and manage IV therapy in accordance with provider orders and protocols
Support breastfeeding initiation and provide education to patients and families on postpartum and newborn care
Collaborate with physicians, midwives, anesthesiologists, and support staff to ensure safe and effective care
Respond promptly to obstetric emergencies with advanced interventions as needed
Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the EMR system
Participate in unit-based education, competencies, and continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications:
Active RN license (New York State or compact license, as applicable)
BLS and NRP certifications required
1–2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience preferred (strong Med/Surg or Women’s Health backgrounds considered)
Knowledge of obstetric, neonatal, and postpartum nursing standards
Experience with EMR systems (Epic preferred)
