Position Summary:
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Residential Care Aides to provide essential support and care for residents in our facility. As a Residential Care Aide, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with varying levels of physical and emotional needs. Your responsibilities will include assisting residents with daily living activities, promoting their independence, and fostering a safe and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care assistance to residents, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
- Assist residents with mobility and transfers, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals, accommodating special dietary needs as required.
- Monitor and document residents’ health and behavioral conditions, reporting any changes to the nursing staff.
- Help residents engage in social, recreational, and therapeutic activities to promote their physical and mental well-being.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Foster positive relationships with residents, encouraging their independence and dignity.
- Support medication management as directed by healthcare professionals.
- Collaborate with team members to provide comprehensive care tailored to individual resident needs.
- Participate in staff training and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications (CNA, HHA, PCA) preferred.
- Previous experience in a caregiving role, preferably in a residential or long-term care setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with residents, families, and colleagues.
- Compassionate, patient, and empathetic demeanor.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and maintain confidentiality.
- Basic knowledge of medication administration and health monitoring techniques.
- Ability to lift and assist residents, utilizing proper body mechanics and safety techniques.
- Must meet background check requirements as mandated by state regulations.
