Job Description : A licensed social worker who has the expertise and skills needed to guarantee that all student populations have equitable access participation in school-related activities and to academic instruction; supports specially designed programming to meet the unique goals of students; supports student growth to close skills gaps and prepare students for postsecondary success; has a deep understanding of the interconnectedness of the home, school and community, and collaborates with stakeholders to enhance student outcomes.

A license is required from the Colorado Department of Education with an endorsement for School Social Worker.

  • Reports for work as scheduled, following protocol for planned absences
  • Works at different Colorado Springs school locations in variety of grade levels
  • Performs assigned duties
  • Responsible for ensuring Behavior plans are followed and supported with staff in the building
  • This position will entail 1-1 sessions and group sessions, meeting IEP required minutes
  • Ability to retain current/active licensures needed for position
  • Ability to complete training in order to perform assessments and provide input for comprehensive evaluations for special education identifications and plans
  • Complies with applicable state and federal laws, network administrative policies, procedures, and practices, and location requirements
  • Ability to lead teams and participate in teams as an integral collaborator and decision maker

  • Demonstrates knowledge of school social work and integrates evidence-based practices and research findings into services for students to enhance learning and reduce barriers
  • Develops and implements services related to student needs, learning, and progress towards goals

Required Qualifications:

Meets subject, grade level, and/or content area qualifications consistent with Colorado Department of Education and James Irwin Charter School requirements - Special Services Provider License: Initial - Colorado Department of Education, Special Services Provider License: Professional - Colorado Department of Education

Compensation Range: $45,000-50,000 (Based on education and experience at 100% FTE)

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40

Hours per Day: 8 hours

Number of Days per Year: 191 days

* Starting pay rate will be determined after a review of the work experience, education, licensures, etc. pertaining to the field provided on the job application depending upon previous and relevant work experience.

*Staff is assigned based on case load to James Irwin Charter Schools on the same campus to maximize student learning and access to the curriculum.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
