POSITION: Senior Appraiser
DEPARTMENT: Assessor's Office
Responsibilities:
Appraises real property and mobile homes to determine fair market value and assess taxes in accordance with prescribed schedules while performing statistical analysis using economic, accounting, and real estate appraisal principles. Appraises property using the sales comparison approach, the cost approach, and also the income approach using direct capitalization method and gross rent multipliers. Appears before appeals boards and courts from the Administrative Law Court up to the Supreme Court to defend County appraisals.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Business or a related field and minimum of three (3) years' experience in the appraisal and taxation process and/or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must possess a South Carolina real estate appraiser's license.
Must complete twenty-eight (28) hours of continuing education credits biennially.
Must possess a valid SC driver's license or have the ability to obtain one prior to employment.
