Salary: $126,000 - 212,000 per year Requirements:

• A Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field is essential.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in trading engineering is required.
• Familiarity with Capital markets or cryptocurrency with experience in Trading and Algo Trading is necessary.
• A strong foundation in designing and developing low latency trading systems is crucial.
• Proficient knowledge of WebSocket and FIX protocols is expected.
• Experience in building matching engines, OMS/EMS, or exchange-connectivity platforms is required.
• Previous usage of kernel bypass technologies (e.g., Solarflare OpenOnLoad) is a plus.
• Extensive experience with modern Java using zero GC patterns is vital.
• Highly skilled in ultra-low latency design patterns and optimizing trading systems is needed.
• Experience with low latency messaging systems such as Aeron, Solace, or 29West is essential.
• Proficient in SQL and knowledgeable about relational and time series databases is necessary.
• Experience in designing APIs, distributed systems, asynchronous workers, and resilient messaging services is required.
• Understanding of microservice architecture and cloud-based deployments is appreciated.
• Knowledge of sequencer architecture is beneficial.
• Ability to create dependable software capable of functioning in unreliable environments is important.
• Strong leadership and mentorship qualities are expected in small, agile, collaborative teams.

• As a Principal Trading Engineer, I will be responsible for designing and implementing technology solutions for our Fidelity Digital Assets® business, particularly in trading and crypto trading. I will closely collaborate with our business partners to contribute to critical initiatives, demonstrating software engineering excellence through continuous integration and deployment practices. I will ensure that I stay updated with the latest IT framework and technologies to enhance our productivity while guiding junior team members on technology.
• My role will involve collaboration with various stakeholders and large cross-functional teams to deliver work effectively. I will focus on innovative solutions to boost productivity and set the technical direction for software developers by concluding designs with other tech leads and architects. This hands-on position requires me to write code for product features, providing a unique opportunity to build secure and scalable cloud-based services with modern development practices.
