Infosys is seeking Network Planner Systems Engineer for Telecom Planning and Operation projects. This role requires close partnership and collaboration with teams involved in telecom Service Delivery lifecycle and Subject Matter Experts.

Required Qualifications

  • Candidate must be located within commuting distance of Raleigh NC, Tulsa OK, Richardson TX or be willing to relocate to the area. This position may require travel in the US.
  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
  • At least 2 year of Information Technology experience
  • At least 1 year of experience in Telecom Operations and maintenance like Order Entry, Design,Offnet or Transport/IP in disconnect area.
  • Experience in Testing and troubleshooting on layer 1 and Layer 2 of OSI model (Ethernet/SONET 1G, 10G, 100G, STM1-1/OC3, STM-4/OC12, STM-16/OC-48, E1/T1).
  • Setup/Drive weekly/monthly review calls with management and clients for reviewing metrics, progress, and challenges.
  • Designing, configuring, and maintaining secure and efficient network systems.
  • Upgrade existing equipment to meet current demands and propose additional equipment for future growth.
  • Ensure quality assurance on all disconnect procedures being performed correctly to mitigate human error outages and maintain overall disconnect cost optimization, Provisioning and Troubleshooting on Multi-vendor environment
  • Collaborate, support, and execute various disconnect projects to ensure timely disconnection for site decoms for clients.
  • Perform RCA for missed metrics and implement improvement plan.
  • Propose/Drive operational automation initiatives for optimizing Delivery cycle.
  • Own and maintain client(s) technical documentation.
  • Experience and desire to work in a Global delivery environment.

  • Receive and respond to incoming calls, messages, and work orders related to networking and its programming configurations.
  • Ensure work is carried out within agreed service levels and project guidelines to meet organizational objectives.
  • Explain and document technical issues clearly for technical teams, business stakeholders, and end-users to ensure proper understanding and resolution.
  • Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills to ensure smooth interaction with team members and stakeholders.
  • Utilize strong analytical skills to identify and address hardware, cable, port, and device-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Experience and desire to work in a Global delivery environment.
  • Good Communication and Analytical skills.

The job entails sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods of time. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email or face to face. Travel may be required as per the job requirements.
