The grant funded Tribal Attorney/SAUSA is responsible for providing prosecutorial services for on- reservation offenses committed within the exterior boundaries of the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs Reservation, and the state of Oregon's US Attorney's office. The Prosecutor/SAUSA may be assigned other duties including training. This position requires comprehensive knowledge. Of the Tribal, State and Federal Law and Regulations. This position is on-site, not remote.
Minimum qualifications include a four-year college degree plus a Juris Doctorate (JD) from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association. Applicant must be a member in good standing of the bar of any state jurisdiction of the United States of America or Puerto Rico and must be admitted or eligible for admission to the United States District Court for the District of Oregon. Must be able to pass the Warm Springs tribal bar exam within 6 months of hire. Applicant must be able to successfully complete an F.B.I. Background Investigation. Completion and favorable adjudication of all criminal checks, pre-employment drug and alcohol test and other requirements of the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs and United States Attorney's Office and Department of Justice. Preference that the applicant has prior prosecution experience in tribal and federal courts
