Job Description

As a GIS Technician with Resource Data, you will inhabit a growth-oriented role designed to develop foundational and professional skills in the areas of GIS data management, spatial analysis, and editing in versioned envrionments. You will join a team of GIS consultants working directly with clients to enter and maintain GIS data, create custom maps and GIS products, and support other GIS professionals. Learning from our Senior GIS Analysts and GIS Service Area Lead, you will gain invaluable GIS experience to take your career to the next level.

Key Responsibilities

• Editing and digitizing geospatial data, locations, and attributes using GIS products
• Converting as-built engineering and construction drawing information into GIS and tabular data
• Creating and maintaining printed and online maps, GIS databases, and mapping files
• Performing spatial adjustments to existing GIS data
• Locating and acquiring relevant GIS data from client and public sources
• Identifying and utilizing geoprocessing tools best suited to achieve the desired results of our clients

Basic Qualifications

• 1+ years of professional experience or coursework using GIS concepts and cartographic principles/design
• Knowledge of Esri geoprocessing tools
• Ability to build rapport through written and verbal communication
• Sharp attention to details, data accuracy, and quality of work
• Ability to triage tasks, collaborate with teams, and adapt to business systems/programs via on-the-job training

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, or related field
• Any level of GIS certification
• 1+ years' experience in a client-facing role
• Experience editing in a versioned environment
