The Pacific Community (SPC) is the principal scientific and technical organisation in the Pacific region, supporting development since 1947. We are an international development organisation owned and governed by our 27 country and territory members. We are known for our knowledge and innovation in such areas as fisheries science, public health, geoscience, and conservation of plant genetic resources for food and agriculture.
The Strategy, Performance & Learning (SPL) unit is a specialized unit within the Office of the Director-General, with responsibilities for co-developing SPC Strategic Plan and the necessary methodology, capability and practice for monitoring and reporting against the Strategic Plan. SPL has staff based at our headquarters in Noumea, as well as our regional office in Suva. We provide whole of organization service (Secretariat and member) through i) Strategy and Planning; ii) Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning; iii) Programming and Design. Our work is focused on creating the conditions for change, grounded in contextually relevant and culturally responsive practice.
The role - Integrated Planning Coordinator plays a pivotal role in advancing the Pacific Community’s service delivery by anchoring coherent, member-centric planning processes that align regional priorities with national development aspirations. Central to this role is supporting SPL collaborating with the Pacific MEL (Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning), 2050 MEL Working Group and national planners across Pacific Island Countries and Territories (PICTs) to integrate the Rebbilib Roadmap, PMEL convenings, 2050 Strategy for the Blue Pacific Continent and the SDG Pacific Regional Roadmap into national development planning, reporting, and decision-making frameworks. The coordinator will support SPC-wide integrated planning efforts, strengthening linkages between divisional programs, flagships, and cross-cutting themes such as climate and disaster resilience, gender equality, and digital transformation; and its response to the Independent Institutional Review and efforts of the OneSPC Transformation Program.

Coordinate planning capacity strengthening initiatives
Support initiatives for coherent planning organisational culture and enabling environments
Support to Institutionalising Integrated Planning via the OneSPC Transformation Programme

Contract Duration – 3 years – subject to renewal depending on funding and performance
Remuneration – The Integrated Planning Coordinator is a band 9 position in SPC’s 2025 salary scale, with a starting salary range of 2,399‒2,998 SDR (special drawing rights) per month, which currently converts to approximately FJD 7,220–9,025 (USD 3,190–3,988; EUR 2,938–3,672). An offer of appointment for an initial contract will normally be made in the lower half of this range, with due consideration given to experience and qualifications. Progression within the salary scale will be based on annual performance reviews. Remuneration of expatriate SPC staff members is not subject to income tax in Fiji; Fiji nationals employed by SPC in Fiji will be subject to income tax.
Benefits for international employees based in Fiji – SPC provides a housing allowance of FJD 1,500–5,200 per month. Establishment and repatriation grant, removal expenses, airfares, home leave travel, health and life and disability insurances and education allowances are available for eligible employees and their eligible dependents. Employees are entitled to 25 working days of annual leave per annum and other types of leave, and access to SPC’s Provident Fund (contributing 8% of salary, to which SPC adds a 10% contribution).
