Job Summary

The Pipeline Rehabilitation Technician is responsible for inspecting and rehabilitating sanitary and storm sewer collection systems. This role involves a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: robotic camera inspections, cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) lining, and spray-applied coating systems to restore and maintain the integrity of underground sewer systems without extensive excavation. The technician ensures that all work complies with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.

Key Responsibilities 

• Perform trenchless rehabilitation of wastewater pipelines, including CIPP lining and other no-dig methods.
• Operate and maintain equipment used in trenchless pipeline rehabilitation 
• Prepare job sites for trenchless operations, including setting up equipment, traffic control, and site safety measures.
• Conduct pre- and post-rehabilitation inspections using CCTV and other inspection technologies to assess pipeline conditions and ensure the quality of repairs. 
• Interpret and work from engineering plans, drawings, and specifications related to pipeline rehabilitation projects.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during the rehabilitation process, ensuring minimal disruption to the surrounding environment and community.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to protect workers, the public, and the environment.• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including those related to wastewater management and environmental protection.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, including daily logs, material usage, and project progress reports.
• Provide detailed reports on the condition of pipelines before and after rehabilitation, including any recommendations for future maintenance.
• Work closely with other team members, including engineers, technicians, and project managers, to ensure successful project completion.
• Provide training and guidance to junior team members or apprentices on trenchless rehabilitation techniques and safety procedures.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Must possess a VALID & CLEAN driver's license (do not apply if you do not meet this requirement)
• Ability to work 50-60 hours a week
• Ability to work out of town/state/five (5) days a week (non-negotiable)
• Ability to work outdoors in any and all weather conditions 
• Willing to work around confined spaces and municipal sewer systems
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical, drug screen, and driving record check as required.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and lift/push/pull/carry up to 50 lbs.

Available Overtime

Employees typically work an average of 55 hours per week, providing opportunities to earn additional income. Overtime may be required depending on business needs.

Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)

GCU not only provides the training needed to obtain a CDL—we also cover the licensing costs and offer a pay increase once the CDL is earned. Obtaining a CDL independently can take several weeks and cost thousands of dollars, but GCU provides this at no expense to you.

Paid Travel Time

Employees are paid for “ride time” to and from job sites, a benefit that is uncommon in the industry.

No Experience or Education Requirements

We welcome individuals who are willing to learn. GCU will teach you the trade skills needed to be successful—no prior experience or formal education required.

This is a FULL-TIME position with overtime. Work days are Monday-Friday, but may vary due to projects and holidays. Flexibility is required.
